How can I transfer ETH from Linea to Ethereum?

I've been freelancing for a while now and recently started taking crypto as payment, ETH in particular. I've always used an Ethereum wallet, it's just what I'm used to. Then a client came along saying he could pay in ETH but on Linea, and assured me that moving it over afterward wouldn't be an issue. Turns out it kind of is, because I can't wrap my head around how to do it. As far as I can tell, there's no direct transfer between the two. What am I supposed to do?

Takes an extra step but it's reliable and there's no guessing involved.

The more clients start paying in crypto the more weird stuff comes up that nobody warned you about, because everyone's on a different network setup.
